Connect your AI app to RivetAI

Add RivetAI to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or Claude Code. Sign in to RivetAI and choose what each app can do.

How connecting works

Add the connector URL in your AI app. Sign in to RivetAI when the app asks. Pick one workspace and approve permissions. The connection lasts up to 90 days. After that, you reconnect.

Each AI app has its own setup steps. All of them end at the same RivetAI sign-in and permissions screen.

Open Claude's custom connector dialog with the RivetAI URL filled in. Add the connector, then sign in to RivetAI.

Turn on developer mode in ChatGPT. Create an app in Settings with the server URL below. Choose OAuth as the authentication method, then sign in to RivetAI.

Cursor

Open Cursor's MCP install prompt with RivetAI already set up. Confirm the install, then sign in to RivetAI.

Some AI apps limit custom connectors by plan or admin settings. The connector URL holds no credentials. Access comes only from your sign-in.

Permissions

RivetAI shows four permissions when you connect. Approve only what you need. Archive and delete is never selected for you.

View projects: read projects, reports, and exports.
Create and edit: create projects, upload screenplays, and edit scenes, tags, characters, schedules, budgets, and coverage.
Run AI features: run breakdowns, schedules, budgets, and coverage. These use your workspace's AI credits.
Archive and delete: archive or delete projects, and delete tags, notes, characters, stripboards, day breaks, and banners.

AI features use AI credits. RivetAI tells your AI app to ask you before it starts one.

Connected apps work only with Studio or Enterprise licensed projects. Writer and unlicensed projects show in the list but can't be opened.

Manage connected apps

In RivetAI, open Workspace settings → Connections. You see each connected app and its permissions.

Disconnect revokes an app's access right away. Removing RivetAI inside your AI app only removes the app's copy. To end access, disconnect it in RivetAI.

Activity from connected apps appears in the workspace activity log.

I use Claude Code or another remote MCP client

For Claude Code, run this command, then run /mcp to sign in. For other remote MCP clients, add the URL below and sign in when asked.

Troubleshooting

Permission missing: reconnect RivetAI and allow that permission.
Project not available: connected apps need a Studio or Enterprise licensed project. Writer and unlicensed projects can't be opened.
Sign-in loop or expired connection: disconnect RivetAI, then connect again.
Wrong workspace: each connection covers one workspace. To use another one, connect again and pick it.
